美国中美研究中心高级研究员苏拉布·古普塔(Sourabh Gupta)近日接受中新网专访时称，美中关系存在“新常态”，但并不意味着两国一定要成为对手。为美中两国构建一个建设性共存的“新常态”框架需要极大的努力。古普塔进一步指出，作为世界前两大经济体，美中两国之间面临着诸如气候变化等全球性挑战。因此，两国必须通力合作，塑造富有稳定性、建设性和明确性的美中关系，共同打造美好的未来。(陈天浩)

　　Sourabh Gupta, senior research fellow at ICAS, noted that there is a “new normal” in U.S.-China relations, but that doesn’t mean that both countries have to be adversaries. He added that there is a huge price to be had to author the framework of this new normal, under which there is constructive and clear-eyed coexistence.

　　Gupta further said that there are also much larger global challenges including climate change the two major powers face. Therefore, the U.S. and China should coordinate, construct a stable and constructive but a clear-eyed relationship, and work together for a better future.
