A continuous stream of Tibetan Buddhists were walking around the grand Potala Palace, turning their rollers inscribed with Buddhist scriptures along the road on which their forefathers had trodden.

Hundreds of workers are repairing the front wall of the splendid Potala Palace on July 11, 2005. At present, many places are undergoing repairing and maintenance works to welcome the 40th anniversary of the establishment of Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR) with a brand-new look.
In recent years, significant changes have taken place along the road. A large square has been built at the foot of Potala Palace, and the road has become wider and smoother.
